چکیده

This paper addresses the source location problem by using time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements. The two-stage weighted least squares (TWLS) algorithm has been widely used in TDOA location. However, estimation accuracy of is poor and bias significant when measurement noise large. Owing to nonlinear nature system model, we reformulate localization as a constrained derive theoretical estimate from maximum-likelihood (ML) estimation. To reduce improve accuracy, novel bias-reduced method developed based on an iterative algorithm. new imposes set linear equality constraints instead quadratic suppress bias. Numerical simulations demonstrate performance improvement proposed over traditional methods. reduced significantly Cramér-Rao lower bound can also be achieved.

Robust Time-Difference-of-Arrival (TDOA) Localization Using Weighted Least Squares with Cone Tangent Plane Constraint

Finding the position of a radiative source based on time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements from spatially separated receivers has been widely applied in sonar, radar, mobile communications and sensor networks. For the nonlinear model in the process of positioning, Taylor series and other novel methods are proposed. The idea of cone constraint provides a new way of solving this problem. ...

Least – Squares Method For Estimating Diffusion Coefficient

Abstract: Determination of the diffusion coefficient on the base of solution of a linear inverse problem of the parameter estimation using the Least-square method is presented in this research. For this propose a set of temperature measurements at a single sensor location inside the heat conducting body was considered. The corresponding direct problem was then solved by the application of the ...

LEAST – SQUARES METHOD FOR ESTIMATING DIFFUSION COEFFICIENT

Determining the diffusion coefficient based on the solution of the linear inverse problem of the parameter estimation by using the Least-square method is presented. A set of temperature measurements at a single sensor location inside the heat conducting body is required. The corresponding direct problem will be solved by an application of the heat fundamental solution.

An Analysis of Weighted Least Squares Method and Layered Least Squares Method with the Basis Block Lower Triangular Matrix Form∗

In this paper, we analyze the limiting behavior of the weighted least squares problem minx∈<n Pp i=1 kDi(Aix − bi)k2, where each Di is a positive definite diagonal matrix. We consider the situation where the magnitude of the weights are drastically different block-wisely so that max(D1) ≥ min(D1) À max(D2) ≥ min(D2) À max(D3) ≥ . . . À max(Dp−1) ≥ min(Dp−1)À max(Dp). Here max(·) and min(·) repr...

Power System State Estimation Using Weighted Least Squares (WLS) and Regularized Weighted Least Squares(RWLS) Method

In this paper, a new formulation for power system state estimation is proposed. The formulation is based on regularized least squares method which uses the principle of Thikonov’s regularization to overcome the limitations of conventional state estimation methods. In this approach, the mathematical unfeasibility which results from the lack of measurements in case of ill-posed problems is elimin...
